Grimes
Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY, born on 17 March, 1988) is professionally known as Grimes, is a Canadian musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Her first album has been described as extending into "lo-fi R&B" to futuristic dance-pop. [4] She's also taken influences from electronic music, hip-hop and rock. Many of her lyrics touch on science-fiction themes as well as feminist topics. Grimes has released five studio albums. Born and raised in Vancouver (later shifting in Montreal), Grimes began making music on her own at the end of the 2000s with two albums released, Geidi Primes as well as Halfaxa which were released in 2010, on Arbutus Records. She subsequently became a member of 4AD and became a household name with the release of its third studio album Visions which came out in the year 2012. Visions contains the two singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" and received the Canadian music industry's Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year. Art Angels, her fourth studio album, debuted in 2015. Several publications called it the top album. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth album of studio work. Aside from music, Grimes had a voice part in the action role-playing video game Cyberpunk 2077 and is a judge on the popular music competition game show Alter Ego.
