Dina Meyer was born in Forest Hills, Queens, New York, but moved to Dix Hills, Long Island in the last year in junior high school. There are two of her younger siblings and an older brother. Her career began in entertainment when she was nine years old and did modeling. Ron Stetson trained her in the acting techniques of Sanford Meisner at The Neighborhood Playhouse. This took about three years. Sandra Bullock and Michael Douglas were among other actors to receive this kind of instruction. Her first role was in Beverly Hills 90210 which forced her to make the move from Beverly Hills to Los Angeles. She was cast as the main character in Johnny Mnemonic in which she performed almost all her stunts by herself. She also established her skills as an actor. Her talent agent was also representing Matt LeBlanc so, through her agent she was able to secure a role in the show Friends.
